From 1 June 2021, you can use a combined ticket to visit the Maison de la Tête de Moine in Bellelay and the Franches-Montagnes dairy in Le Noirmont.
In Bellelay, you will experience a journey through the history of the cheese speciality of the Jura Arc, Tête de Moine AOP. In a historic outbuilding of Bellelay Abbey, you can watch the cheese being made over a wood fire and learn more about the 800-year-old know-how in the production of Tête de Moine PDO during the educational guided tour. Until the end of October, you can also admire the giant hay sculptures in the area around the Maison de la Tête de Moine.
In Le Noirmont, you can discover the different contemporary stages of milk production, manufacture and maturation. Interactive games and exciting stories await you, such as the history of the Girolle® or the collection of unique lactic acid bacteria strains - a carefully preserved treasure of Swiss cultural heritage.
A cheese tasting is included in the price at both locations, and a shop with a wide selection of regional products awaits you.
The Maison de la Tête de Moine has a café and a large terrace. In Le Noirmont, you can enjoy a cheese snack to go, for example at the picnic area in front of the cheese dairy.
